Center Dacha

Center Dacha is a true home for kids with cancer and their families from all over Ukraine. This center is the only place in Ukraine where families get free accommodation during their children’s treatment. Dacha hosted more than 1100 children over 11 years.

Dacha was called so by our kids because for them it is a place where they can have comfortable rest outside of the hospital walls and without hospital procedures… as if it were a real dacha. Here they can deal with pain, make friends, support each other and rejoice together every day.

Dacha is a rented three-story house in which six families can live at a time. Kids come to the Dacha between the treatment stages to recover strength. Here nothing reminds them of the hospital, but, geographically, they are always close to it. We create the conditions for the family to live the most full, active, normal life – like at home. At the cozy Dacha house, kids build castles, build castles, treat plush bears and bathe in colorful balls, bake cakes and make Ukrainian varenyky. Dacha means games, fun, parties, birthday celebrations, camps, new friends, care for moms, dads, siblings, and grandparents. Dacha makes children’s dreams come true, gives opportunities for parents to have a rest and supports. 

Parents often say that their kids receive treatment at the hospital and at the Dacha they live, actually, they return to life here. To improve their blood tests results after chemotherapy some children just need to come to Dacha because it is their home and as we all know home walls can cure us.
