Our Mission and Values

To be there for those who need it, no matter what, is the mission of our Foundation. Since 2008 (the year of foundation), we have been working to ensure that every family whose child has become a victim of cancer is not left alone with their misfortune.

6,328 families received psychological, social, rehabilitation support, and help with medicines and consumables from us.

We are engaged in professional philanthropy that can change the state of affairs. It’s not about “putting out fires”, but about preventing them from starting. We use this principle when we successfully implement such projects as:

psychological and rehabilitation assistance that give our beneficiaries a real chance for a full recovery;

inauguration of the Clinic of Pediatric Oncology and Bone Marrow Transplantation in Lviv, thanks to which children of the Western Ukraine can receive medical care close to home, saving priceless time and money;

organization of educational programs for Ukrainian doctors and the constant support of medical staff strengthens our specialists and, therefore, makes Ukrainian medicine of higher quality.

The Dacha project is our Foundation’s heart. It is the home away from home, which we opened in 2009. The only center in Ukraine for families having children with cancer, where they can live together for free during treatment. Until February 24, 2022, 1300 children of various ages from all over the country lived here.

We have now built our new independent Dacha. Its official inauguration was supposed to take place in June 2022, but the housewarming had to be postponed due to the war. We have already resumed work on its landscaping. Soon everything will be ready!

At the beginning of the war, we managed to evacuate children with their relatives to safe countries in just a few days and provide them with a normal life and treatment. Currently, 100 families are under our care in clinics in Italy.

The Zaporuka team is united by three values: humanness, honesty, efficiency. That is why we decided to invest our powerful professional experience to support those suffering from the war. First of all, traumatized and injured children.

The main areas of the Foundation’s activities today are:

Provision of hospitals, which have started accepting children from war-affected regions of Ukraine, with medicines, consumables, equipment, ambulances, and specialists. All that is necessary for institutions to work 24/7. Currently, there are 13 of such hospitals of various levels — national, regional, and frontline.

Psychological support in children’s departments of the National Cancer Institute and the Romodanov Institute of Neurosurgery in Kyiv, St. Nicholas’ Hospital and West Ukrainian Specialized Children’s Medical Center in Lviv.

Humanitarian aid to communities that sheltered internally displaced persons in Kyiv, Cherkasy, Poltava, Vinnytsia, and Lviv Oblasts.

Reconstruction of housing for IDPs in the village of Neslukhiv, Lviv Oblast. The goal is to provide 30 cozy modern studio apartments to 30 families.

Hotline for free psychological support, where we have 20 of the best specialists in their field, at the number 0 800 4000 23 (for calls from abroad +38 050 493 03 07).

The Zaporuka Foundation carries out charitable activities exclusively within current legislation limits and with an annual independent audit. You can see our reports by following the link.

Being human is our life position: we are there for those who need us, we take care of them and help them.

Being honest – we report for every smallest contribution, this is the most important rule, observance of which allows us to be proud of our reputation.

Efficiency – we maximize good from every donation using it where it is the most needed.
