When a child is diagnosed with a severe illness, familiar life disappears. Instead of home, there are hospital walls, constant tests, waiting, and anxiety for their life.

We at the Zaporuka Foundation know that the path to recovery is not just about medicine. It is the opportunity for a family to be together, to cook familiar meals, to sleep in quiet, and to hold a child's hand not between hospital walls, but at home.

This is precisely why, 16 years ago, we created the «Dacha» Family Home—a home away from home, right next to the hospital. First in Kyiv, and later in Lviv. Here, families can live together and find support during the most difficult period of their lives.

Today we are taking the next step — we are opening Dacha in Dnipro.

The Regional Medical Center for Family Health in Dnipro is a large medical hub where families from five frontline oblasts of Ukraine arrive every day. Many families stay here for months of treatment. For them, housing is not about comfort. It is about the opportunity to be together when everything around is collapsing.
