Strengthening healthcare in Ukraine
We want Ukrainians to have access to the highest level of treatment - at home, near their families, even during the war.
We want Ukrainians to have access to the highest level of treatment - at home, near their families, even during the war.
Since 2008, we have been systematically supporting the healthcare sector: strengthening the capacity of hospitals, providing equipment and medicines, helping doctors to train, and developing rehabilitation where it is most needed.
We improve conditions in medical facilities to make patients feel cared for and comfortable during treatment of serious illnesses. We renovate departments, purchase modern equipment, and create new spaces for treatment and rehabilitation.
У 2022 we facilitated the opening of the first in the western region of Ukraine Clinics of pediatric oncology and bone marrow transplantation (Lviv). In 2024, we completed a large-scale reconstruction of the reception department at the Center for Pediatric Medicine in Lviv, where hundreds of children receive care every month. Despite the war, in 2025 we managed to complete Phase II of the pediatric oncology department renovation at the National Cancer Institute in Kyiv.
The Zaporuka Foundation helps patients receive vital medicines and supplies. We work with 12 medical institutionswith whom we have signed memorandums of cooperation, and we promptly respond to individual requests from families in the most difficult situations.
Who we help and how we help →
We invest resources in developing the knowledge and skills of our medical teams: we organize training programs, internships, and exchange of experience with leading clinics in Europe.
Before launching the transplants in Lviv, the team of doctors was trained at the San Matteo Clinic (Italy). During the full-scale war, doctors from Kyiv, Lviv, and Dnipro were trained at the leading rehabilitation centers Montecatone and Bambino Gesù, adopting modern practices.
Physical rehabilitation is a key stage of recovery, especially for children with cancer and patients with war trauma. Since 2008, we have been developing the field of physical therapy at the National Cancer Institute: we have opened rehabilitation halls, supported the work of physical therapists, and launched specialized projects. Every year, hundreds of children return to activity thanks to the work of the Foundation's physical therapists.
In 2022, we expanded our assistance in the area of rehabilitation. We contributed to the creation of the Unbroken and Unbroken Kids rehabilitation centers for patients with injuries and burns. In 2024, we strengthened this area and provided support to rehabilitation departments in hospitals in Kyiv, Lviv, and Dnipro. We help with renovation of spaces, purchase of equipment, development of modern protocols and training of specialists. Together with our partners, we are systematically improving rehabilitation in Ukraine.
