In 2019, Dacha Became a Home for 70 Families

For every person, it is important to feel safe, to be able to cuddle up with loved ones. That’s especially true for children with cancer. They can do it at the Center Dacha, the only one in Ukraine, which for the period of treatment becomes for children and their relatives their second home. 

Dacha-2019 is a home for 70 kids whose normal childhood has been stolen by cancer. 114 moms and dads who have forgotten what happiness and a peaceful sleep are. 56 siblings, grandparents and other relatives who has learnt to cry in solitude at home this year but find a way to come to Kyiv from far away cities and towns to see each other, to hug each other, and to tell each other the most important words of love and support.

Dacha-2019 is 67 unforgettable activities when Dacha kids had fun at pajama parties, played with animators, went to football matches with the star Junior Moraes, when Dacha moms enjoyed their new hairstyles and makeup aſter beauty days and many other activities, so that they didn’t have just hospital memories from the last year.

Parents often say that their kids receive treatment at the hospital and at the Dacha they live, actually, they return to life here. To improve their blood tests results after chemotherapy some children just need to come to Dacha because it is their home and as we all know home walls can cure us.

In the developed countries, every hospital has a house like Dacha but in this country it is the only place where families can get accommodation for free during treatment. Over 11 years Dacha hosted  more than a thousand children together with thousands of their moms, dads, siblings, and grandparents.
