Do we have to stand up? So we have to be strong....to survive the darkness and come out of it with light in our souls.
It is not easy. Especially for those who are face to face with war. It is impossible to cope alone with the inner abyss that many Ukrainians have formed because of the hell they have experienced. Especially if it is a child.
To restore the resilience of war survivors, Zaporuka, with the support of the Humanitarian Foundation for Ukraine and Intersos, organized a training course for psychologists and social workers in Vinnytsia and Kryvyi Rih as part of a project to provide psychosocial support to internally displaced persons.
The main task is to empower specialists with new effective practices and techniques. To turn them into powerful "generators" who could feed those who have no vital energy left.
The course was held in the format of lectures and discussions in two streams. The first was for psychologists and social workers. It was attended by 83 specialists. The second was for those who communicate with children but do not have a psychology degree. It was attended by 33 representatives of Vinnytsia educational institutions.
The speakers are specialists from the Kyiv psychological center Equilibrium. Experts who have been working with children traumatized by war since 2014.
At the end of the training, the participants shared their impressions. All of them noted the practicality, accessibility, and "vital" nature of the knowledge they had gained. They thanked for the clear algorithm of actions, structured approach and numerous techniques, including self-regulation. They also thanked me for the sincere feedback and the rare opportunity to speak up. After all, a psychologist needs this too, right?
We plan to hold the next training course in December.
