Kremenchuk is one of the 11 locations where our humanitarian RELIEF support for IDP families is provided.
Since the beginning of the war, this city has sheltered 8000 affected Ukrainians. Almost 4%(!) of the total population of 200,000 residents. And although the number has now been halved, it is still a rather heavy burden on the community.
The local foundation "Courageous Ukraine" asked us for support. Active young guys organized it to help vulnerable people and refugees from hot spots more effectively and with dignity. The first thing they did was to create a Google form and automate the process with a grant to create SMS campaigns.
Since then, each potential recipient has received a notification of where and when the distribution will take place. By the way, registration is very accessible. Even pensioners can master it quite easily. And thanks to this "forced" digitalization, the distribution is always disciplined. All processes work like clockwork.
Such a rational approach eventually affects emotions as well - the comfort of receiving help. People do not stand in line in the cold for a long time, because "Bold Ukraine" takes care in advance that, for example, 600 sets of household chemicals are distributed not in one day, but 200 sets over three days.
And this is precisely about dignity. IDPs should not feel like beggars, but like people who are treated with respect and sincere sympathy.
We managed to provide 1200 IDP families with food packages worth UAH 723,600, hygiene products worth UAH 360,204 (600 packages) and a hundred blankets worth UAH 71,700 in a fast and coordinated manner.
It is unlikely that we would have been able to cope with so many people in need of support if it were not for the systematic approach of the Bold Ukraine team. They definitely have a lot to learn from. Thank you for the productive cooperation!
