Developing community capacity
The challenges caused by the ongoing war are extremely large in scale and geographical distribution. There are no communities in Ukraine that have not felt the impact of the war in one form or another. Occupation, de-occupation, destruction due to Russian attacks, and the integration of a large number of IDPs are realities that communities in different parts of Ukraine face on a daily basis.
Civil society organizations that are concentrated in large cities cannot ensure their presence on the ground and quality interaction with beneficiaries on their own. To ensure a quick and effective response, cooperation with communities and an extensive network of local civil society organizations is required. Many of these organizations were established by initiative volunteers after February 24, do not always have sufficient experience and need assistance in institutional development. Therefore, the Zaporuka Charitable Foundation is establishing partnerships with local NGOs to strengthen the capacity of communities through the exchange of experience, peer-to-peer training, and joint project implementation.
