We will open the Center for Children Affected by Cancer Dacha on time, despite obstacles.
On March 28, at 11:30 p.m., a fire broke out near the front door at the Dacha Center construction site. The construction workers and the security guard on the site noticed the flames in time and extinguished them on their own within half an hour. Later came the fire brigade, the police, and the ambulance. Fortunately, no one was hurt.
The Foundation president Nataliia Onipko filed a report to the Solomianske Police Department. The fire inspector issued an official report on the possible arson. We are waiting for the investigation results in the hope that the perpetrators will be found and punished.
As we know, the fire has damaged the foundation, a part of the facade, the front door, and two windows. Preliminarily, the losses amount to more than 200,000 UAH.
However, we are sure that we will rebuild everything! This year we will open a home for 13 families who have children with cancer! We refuse to accept a world in which only healthy and beautiful children deserve to live, while the place of their cancer peers is on the sidelines, where no one would see them. We will fight for an inclusive world with a place for everyone.
