This year, in the hematology department of the Western Ukrainian Specialized Children's Medical Center in Lviv, Zaporuka has opened a psychologist's room.
A psychologist’s room is now available in the hematology department of the Western Ukrainian Specialized Children's Medical Center in Lviv.
A psychologist’s room is a formal concept. In reality, it is a small space, which we filled with furniture, paints, and all related materials that will create a favorable atmosphere for a child. Not only artists but also children and doctors of the medical center took part in the decorating. Their participation in the creative process is an opportunity to create a space of support during treatment as they see it.
The newly created space of psychological support is an opportunity for children and parents to feel safe, to regain strength to move forward to victory despite all the obstacles that life throws at them. A psychologist's office is a place where everyone will find their true self and release their emotions.
We created this place as part of our psychological service, which has existed for over ten years. Thanks to the Foundation's professional psychologists, more than 1,200 consultations have been provided for 230 children and almost 300 parents in the last year only. Such statistics inspire faith in a better future for every child because psychological support carried out together with target help provides for a child’s well-being.
We are grateful to OKKO and dobro.ua, our partners, for the support of the project and the creation of the psychologist’s room.
