Renovation works in the transplant department of the Western Ukrainian Specialized Children’s Medical Center is still in progress, and meanwhile, we are moving to the stage of equipping it.
The first piece of equipment in the department will be the thawer, the only equipment that helps prepare cell collections. It thaws both stem cells and other solutions – plasma, blood or erythromass. As biomaterial is being thawed, the specialists will be able to monitor the whole process on the screen; at any moment, they will be able to learn more about its current stage and set the thawing program at a convenient time.
All the data can be downloaded to a flash drive or medical information system, which facilitates reporting and filling in new information about the little patients.
This innovative technique will help to improve all the processes in the department. Its value will increase when it is in action immediately after delivery to the hospital.
