Zaporuka has a new partner, the international humanitarian organization INTERSOS. It is a leader in providing comprehensive emergency assistance to countries where the war began.
We will work together at the level of Ukrainian cities and regions, strengthening local authorities in addressing medical and social issues.
We start with Lviv and Vinnytsia regions - the regions with the largest number of IDPs.
There are many plans. We are currently analyzing the situation on the ground and collecting inquiries.
However, there are problems that can not wait. In particular, the arrangement of bomb shelters in hospitals. Children should not sit for hours in the cold, without fresh air, in oppressive darkness and dampness. Unfortunately, this is exactly the condition of many bomb shelters.
Therefore, our first joint project with INTERSOS, which has already started, is the renovation of bomb shelters.
We started with the shelter of the Western Ukrainian Specialized Children's Medical Center in Lviv. From the first day of the war, children are accepted here from everywhere.
At present, it is not really possible to organize major repairs due to frequent air alarms. Children have to go down several times a day and stay in the basement for hours.
The next tasks are to remove dust, ventilate, install heating, make comfortable lighting, and work creatively with the "interior". Do everything possible so that kids do not feel like "children of the dungeon".
The other day explosions were heard in Lviv again. People died. Among the wounded is a small child who ran away from Kharkiv with his mother ...
Alarms should not be ignored even in relatively safe cities. Take care of yourself and your loved ones🙏💙💛
