Making changes here and now is our main incentive in moving forward. We surveyed 100 beneficiaries to find out what our support means for children and their families, what they would change or add – all to move towards perfection that has no limits.
Why is it important to regularly ask for children and their parents’ genuine opinions?
No one will talk about our support better than the ones who see their baby learning to walk again thanks to rehabilitation. No other person will share their faith in people and goodness like children’s parents, who at first did not know where to turn for help before we supported them on their way to recovery.
No other person feels what Dacha is like better than the ones who live here. They are the ones who have barely opened their eyes after sleeping in their Dacha room and sneak intuitively into the kitchen for delicious smells. The ones who wake up in the morning not from constant suffering but the sun’s rays pouring on the pillow and already want to celebrate the day because it is no longer full of pain.
Faced with childhood cancer, they had to radically change their way of life, habits and dive into the unknown reality. One needs to immediately remember the names of hundreds of drugs, what to do if you suddenly have a fever, and what foods cannot be eaten. And yet – to look for exorbitant amounts of money needed for treatment. And yet – to look for a new home in a strange city. And yet – to find a qualified rehabilitation specialist who will put the children back on their feet, and there is an infinite number of necessary things which make your head spin.
