Hematology Department Renovated in Lviv
Children’s recovery depends not only on the doctors’ skills, available medicines and equipment but also on the sterility and the comfortable conditions during hospitalization.
Fungus is our children’s worst enemy and a frequent companion to chemotherapy. After all, if chemio kills a tumor, it’s easy to imagine what it does to children’s immunity. To save themselves from infections that can cause complications, children wear masks everywhere and take antifungal drugs. But it is not enough. The fungus can live in old cracks, walls and floors.
In September 2017, we had a dream – to improve the conditions in the Hematology Department of the West Ukrainian Specialized Children’s Medical Center and to create a space in which kids will recover faster.
Since the beginning of the project, we renovated 350 m2! The playroom, 15 patient’s rooms, 11 bathrooms and a corridor were renovated from the floor to the ceiling. We had the floor and the electricity replaced and the walls of the rooms are now decorated with the designer paintings.
That’s you, our friends, who helped us to implement this great project! Thanks to your active participation in Arsen Mirzoyan’s Charity Bicycle Run, in the Giving Tuesday campaign and many donations, you have raised 1,300,000 UAH for kids from Lviv to help them recover as soon as possible.
We are grateful to the manufacturers and to the suppliers for the donated construction materials, we wouldn’t be able to do without you! We are grateful to hundreds of supporters! You make the world a better place!
