Giving Tuesday Raised Over Half a Million UAH for Endoprostheses
More than 200 Ukrainian schools held kindness lessons, 67 schools raised 513,000 UAH in support of our beneficiaries, Vika Soloviova and Vasia Davydiuk. To avoid leg amputation, they need special growing endoprostheses worth over one million UAH each.
In 2018, Ukraine officially joined the #GivingTuesday World Charity Movement. Every year, in more than 150 countries around the world, millions of people unite for good causes on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving.
This is a fairly new event for this country but extremely popular in the world. Launched in Ukraine last year, it has become a national charity flashmob as various people do good and change the world for the better. Everyone chooses what they like. Someone visits lonely seniors, someone makes purchases for the Ukrainian army, someone takes care of animal shelters, someone helps children in difficult life circumstances.
Our wonderful school students also made a huge contribution. Thousands of children united for good causes. They made handicrafts and sold them at school fairs, rehearsed performances and held concerts to sell tickets, invented lotteries and auctions, and much more.
Thanks to these extraordinary caring children, we can help other children. The fundraising campaign for Vika’s endoprosthesis is completed. The girl has already undergone surgery and it is time for rehabilitation. The campaign for Vasia is still ongoing but soon he will have the necessary surgery too.
The students gave us a powerful inspiration. Let’s unite for good causes every day!
