It's hard to believe, but we succeeded!
Neither the pandemic nor the war prevented the first bone marrow transplant for a child at the recently opened Children's Oncology and Bone Marrow Transplantation Clinic of the ZUSDMC in Lviv.
This is the first such project in the Western region. The most ambitious and one of the most expensive projects that "Zaporuka" implemented together with Roman Kizyma over the course of 3 years together with the Fondazione Rosa Pristinata and Soleterre Onlus.
The project will be of great importance for the future of our country and will contribute to its reputation in the world in terms of the availability of such operations. With it, children will be able to receive care close to home, saving the precious time and money required to operate abroad.
But even 5 months ago, we were in despair. It seemed that the project, in which so much effort and resources had been invested, would not be able to exist in such conditions. Fortunately, we were wrong.
We don't know how the occupants are doing with their "everything is idiotic according to plan", but in our country everything is moving exactly as we planned in the peaceful 2020 - to conduct the first procedure in 2022. And we did it! Because our people are supercharged!
Thank you to everyone who helped, built, supported, donated, and taught. And most importantly, who believed in us more than we believed in ourselves. Everything is possible with you!
