When 12-year-old Andrii (name changed for confidentiality reasons) was admitted to the Regional Medical Center of Family Health in Dnipro, the doctors knew there was no room for error. The boy had been complaining of severe headaches, worsening health, and weight loss for a long time. Previous examinations had not provided a complete answer as to what exactly caused his condition.
Thanks to the support BlueCheck Ukraine The hospital received an automatic injector, which the Zaporuka Foundation handed over for conducting CT scans with contrast enhancement.
For Andrii, precisely such an examination was necessary so that the doctors could determine the further treatment strategy. Contrast-enhanced CT made it possible to clearly see the boundaries of the pathological process, assess the blood supply to the mass, and its location relative to vital structures.
The automatic injector ensured the precise administration of the contrast agent at the designated time and at the required rate. As a result, the physicians obtained high-quality images necessary for establishing a diagnosis and subsequent treatment.
For doctors, this is an opportunity to rely on accurate data when making decisions. And for the little patient and their family, it is an opportunity to move on from searching for answers to treatment in a timely manner.
Every day, children with oncological diseases, severe trauma, vascular pathologies, and complex surgical cases undergo examinations at the Regional Medical Center of Family Health. For many of them, contrast-enhanced CT is an important step on the path to treatment.
Sincere thanks to BlueCheck Ukraine for their support, thanks to which modern equipment is already working for young patients!
