
Olga Chabanyuk is our summer resident, cancer survivor and a strong young woman who defeated cancer twice. She perceives every stage of the struggle for life as a challenge that only strengthens her.
First experience and acquaintance with Dacha
"I found out about Dacha during my first treatment, but came here during a relapse. From the first seconds I realized that this is a special place. There is a unique atmosphere of support here."
Olya recalls that side effects after "chemistry" go away faster at Dacha. In the hospital, there are walls and doctors, but here there are mini-picnics, communication, peace, and life seems to be returning.
How cancer changed direction

The disease came to Olya when she was a teenager. bone cancer.

After the arthroplasty surgery, she was applying to the university. right from the hospital bed.

She studied at the Faculty of Biology, but after a relapse, she realized that she wanted something else.
"Now I am attracted to psychologyI'm thinking about transferring. And I'm also dreaming modeling."
A second diagnosis and a difficult conversation
Olya recalls the day when found out about the relapse:
"I saw a long entry in the card instead of the usual phrase 'No tumors'. The doctor assumed it was a metastasis."
It was the hardest thing to tell my mom - she was silent for several days. And then the doctor called me, Mom was cryingI realized that I would have to go all the way again.
Cancer is a world-changing experience
"It's an experience I wouldn't wish on anyone. But it gave me new people and a new perspective on life."
