The Zaporuka Charitable Foundation is strengthening the wave of goodness thanks to another support from the international crowdfunding platform GlobalGiving. Under the new grant, the foundation will provide comprehensive, competent assistance to Ukrainian families in three areas:
The focus of the medical area is to upgrade and strengthen the burn unit of the St. Nicholas Children's Hospital of the First Medical Association of Lviv. Thanks to a grant from GlobalGiving, Zaporuka will regularly purchase medicines to treat young patients in the burn unit until January next year. Since the beginning of the full-scale war, children with mine-blast injuries have been admitted to this unit from all over the country. Unfortunately, the unit needs to be updated to continue providing quality medical care. Therefore, Zaporuka, in addition to purchasing medicines, will also buy new equipment and medical furniture - beds, gurneys, and couches.
Thanks to their many years of experience, Zaporuka's specialists know that psychosocial care is an integral part of successful treatment of patients, focused on restoring a person's vitality. Therefore, as part of the grant from GlobalGiving, the foundation's beneficiaries will be able to receive professional help from the foundation's psychologists - 100 live consultations for hospital patients and their families (at the National Cancer Institute), as well as 400 online consultations on the hotline, which will be available to all Ukrainians in need of professional psychological support from July 2022. Hotline number: 0 800 4000 23
"There is a war going on in Ukraine. We see its devastating consequences, which require a quick response to ensure that Ukrainians as a nation remain unbreakable and resilient. Sometimes, to get back to active life, it is enough to support yourself with a strong hand from the outside. We are such a hand for our wards. Thanks to the concern of our international partners, we continue to do what was valuable to us even before the war - to be there for families in difficult times. Some of them we support through medical care, others - through psychological counseling. But there are also families who cannot cover their basic needs due to lack of funds. Therefore, we will help such families financially. As part of the grant from Global Giving, 150 vulnerable families affected by the war will receive financial assistanceThe President of the Zaporuka Charitable Foundation Natalia Onipko says.
