As a result of the brilliant operation, 16 children with cancer and their families were evacuated from the National Cancer Institute abroad - 43 people in total.
The Zaporuka Foundation continues its work. But now we have another mission to accomplish to save the lives of children in the literal sense of the word.
If you can still hide from shelling, you can't hide from cancer. Our patients have to overcome two wars at once: physical and internal. The doctors at the National Cancer Institute and Okhmatdyt tried to treat them at home until the last, but after the shelling of the clinics it became clear that they had to act immediately.
In a matter of minutes, a plan was formed:
Moving from the hospital to the Kyiv railway station
Train to Lviv
Medical support to the place of temporary residence
Bus transfer to the border
Border crossing and new transportation to clinics
Translation of all medical documents
Meeting of families abroad
Hundreds of people were involved in the process: doctors, volunteers, government agencies, and international organizations. Each of them our hero.
The operation took place in two stages:
The first stage - evacuation of 16 children with their families to Poland.
The second stage - transportation of 12 more children with their families to Italy.
Our reliable partners Soleterre Onlus organized two medical airplanes. The children are currently undergoing treatment in leading clinics in Milan and Pavia.
The deal was made possible thanks to cooperation with:

Our children are safe. We have exhaled, but we are already preparing for new challenges.
