Protecting children with cancer from COVID-19

Despite the easing of quarantine, Risks for children with cancer remain critical. Every piece of personal protective equipment is worth its weight in gold in the fight for their lives. That is why we have doubled our efforts to support the wards at the Dacha Center and the children's department of the Cancer Institute.

Grant from the Renaissance Foundation: help in difficult times

International Foundation "Renaissance" provided a grant of UAH 55,000which was used to purchase the equipment:

• 6 liters of disinfectant concentrate

• 2500 medical masks

• 2200 pairs of shoe covers

• 600 pairs of gloves

All this is already used in the the children's department of the Cancer Institute and Dacha Centerwhere children with cancer and their parents live during treatment.

Medicines that save lives

In addition to the protective equipment, the following items were delivered to the Cancer Institute 30 vials of Carboplatin chemotherapy drugwhich enough for a month of treatment for children. This drug was supposed to be procured by the state budget, but due to delay in public procurement He did not get to the hospital on time.

What do we do next?

We continue:

• support children in hospitals and the Dacha Center;

• purchase medicines and protective equipment;

• replenish emergency assistance fundto respond to critical requests without delay.
