How to get to DACHA?

When a child needs long-term treatment in another city, finding a safe, comfortable, and free place to stay is a real lifesaver for the whole family. Such a place is family house "Dacha" у Kyiv and Lviv.

This is not just a roof over their heads, but a space of care, support and warmth where parents can rest and recuperate, and children can feel a little joy despite the difficult treatment.

In Kyiv:

Contact your doctors or social workers at the National Children's Specialized Hospital "Okhmatdyt" and the National Cancer Institute. They will refer you to the Dacha Family Home team.

In Lviv:

Referrals can be made through the doctors of the Clinical Center for Pediatric Medicine and the First Territorial Medical Association of Lviv.

After the referral, contact the Dacha administrators via SMS, Viber, Telegram, or a phone call:

Contacts are usually available at information stands in hospitals, and doctors or psychologists often recommend Dacha themselves.

What documents are required?

To move in, prepare:

  • passports of all those who will be living there;
  • identification codes;
  • a child's birth certificate;
  • a hospital discharge or a certificate of the child's ability to stay outside the hospital (if there is no discharge);
  • (if available) a disability certificate or IDP certificate.
    Several forms and a questionnaire about the needs of the family are also filled out during check-in.

Duration of stay and settlement procedure

 

In the Dacha family home, the length of stay depends on the stage of the child's treatment:

  • If the child is undergoing active treatment (outpatient treatment, radiation therapy, postoperative recovery, etc.), the family can stay in the house continuously throughout the treatment period.
  • In the case of the period between courses of therapy, up to one month of continuous accommodation is provided so that the family can recover and prepare for the next stage of treatment.

Check-in is carried out on a first-come, first-served basisdepending on availability.

Priority is given when allocating seats:

  • families from small children,
  • families where the child has suffered amputation,
  • families in in the most acute life circumstancesThe company's employees are in need of immediate support.

We strive to provide accommodation for those who most need a calm, safe environment close to medical facilities.

What are the rules and conditions of stay?

"Dacha is a shared space, so there are simple rules of respect, mutual support and responsibility. This helps to create an atmosphere of comfort and understanding, where every family feels at home.

In the Family House "Dacha" living with the child's brothers and sisters is allowed. We understand how important it is to preserve family integrity during a difficult period of treatment, so we create conditions to all family members could be there.

We support family coziness and make sure that even in difficult moments of life, children are not separated from their brothers, sisters and parents. Living together as a family contributes to emotional stability, support and recovery for everyone.

In Kyiv:

  • 13 family rooms (double and triple)
  • A large kitchen, play areas, rooms for psychologist and physical rehabilitation, shelters
  • Elevator - convenient for wheelchairs and things
  • A landscaped courtyard with flowers, a barbecue area, a playground and hanging chairs
  • Shared bathrooms for 2 rooms, as well as adapted rooms for families with special needs

In Lviv:

  • 15 rooms (double and triple)
  • Each room has its own bathroom, TV and mini-fridge
  • Two full kitchens equipped with everything you need
  • Living room, creative rooms, safe shelter
  • The building is adapted for people with disabilities (there is a ramp, rooms on the ground floor)

Both houses are equipped with everything you need for a good stay - bed linen, towels, household appliances, and cleaning equipment.

Dacha is never boring:

Master classes, creative activities, cooking classes, games, theater evenings and excursions help children and parents forget about the hospital reality for a while.
