Family home "Dacha"

DACHA Family Home: cozy and free housing for families of children with cancer

When a child needs long-term treatment in another city, finding a safe, comfortable and free place to stay is a real salvation for the whole family. The DACHA Family Homes in Kyiv and Lviv are just such a place.

It is not just a roof over their heads, but a space of care, support and warmth where parents can rest and recuperate, and children can feel a little joy despite the difficult treatment.

My journey in charity began 20 years ago with a visit to the National Cancer Institute. That was the first time I saw children with cancer and decided to try to change something for them.

Working every day at the National Cancer Institute, I have seen families destroyed. Cancer treatment is very long and it is a great challenge for the whole family. I wanted all the relatives to be able to visit their sick child and be together in such a difficult period.
