As part of the international initiative #GoodTuesday More than 200 Ukrainian schools held lessons of kindness and joined in raising funds for the treatment of children with cancer.
In 67 schools across the country, we collected UAH 513,000 for endoprostheses for the wards of the Foundation Vika Solovyova and Vasya Davidyuk.
These special endoprostheses, which "grow" with the child, cost more than UAH 1 million everyone. They give a chance to avoid amputation and live a full life.
The global charity movement #GivingTuesday unites millions of people in more than 150 countries.
In Ukraine, it is known as #GoodTuesday - is:
national charity flash mob;
a day of good deeds in schools, communities, and businesses;
inspiration to do good in various forms.
The disciples did good as best they could:
They made crafts and organized charity fairs;
staged performances, held concerts, and sold tickets;
They invented lotteries, raffles, and auctions;
We just talked about important things and united.
These small, great deeds had a powerful result.
Fundraising for Vika's endoprosthesis is now closed - She had a successful surgery.
The collection for Vasya is still ongoingBut thanks to the children, we are very close to the goal.
Giving Tuesday school initiatives are an example of how help from the heart really changes lives.
Children help children. And this is the greatest victory of goodness.
