Surgeries that give childhood without pain
Imagine a baby who is only a few months old and begins to explore the world, but through pain. This is the reality of children with craniostenosis. Premature closure of the skull sutures leads to increased intracranial pressure and pain. Parents notice with concern that the child's head changes shape, and over time, symptoms that cannot be ignored are added. Surgery is the main method of treating craniostenosis. If it is not performed in time, irreversible developmental delay can occur. Timely surgical intervention gives a chance for a full childhood and later life.
In 2014, the Zaporuka Foundation helped 11 children go through this journey by paying for plates and related consumables for more than 1 900 000 UAH. In 2025, assistance has already been provided to 8 children who underwent surgeries by professional neurosurgeons at Okhmatdyt and 2 children's hospitals.
By the end of 2025, we expect at least 5 appeals from families, because new cases occur every month.
Unfortunately, state medical programs do not cover the costs of individual needs of patients with craniostenosis. Families are not always able to pay for the operation on their own, which can cost from 150 to 200 thousand hryvnias.
Thanks to our joint support, we will be able to provide timely assistance to children and give them another chance for a pain-free childhood.
Give a child a chance to have a full childhood. One contribution and one more child will have a full life.
