During the VII charity bike ride "I Pedal to Keep Them Alive", UAH 1 million was raised to support children
On June 9, Lviv hosted VII bike ride "Pedaling to keep them alive" from the charitable foundation "Pledge" with the participation of Arsen Mirzoyan. The event has been aimed at supporting the young patients of the Western Ukrainian Specialized Medical Center for many years. This year, thanks to the support of the Lviv City Council and partners, the charity bike ride raised 1000000 UAH for the creation of a manipulation room at the ZUSDMC for children with cancer.
"Today we have gathered at the Opera for the seventh time to keep our good tradition of pedaling through the city of Lviv to support children. Every year, we direct the funds raised during the bike ride to strengthen the Lviv Oblast Children's Hospital, which treats young patients with serious illnesses from all over Ukraine. This year's charitable contributions will help us to create a manipulation room with the possibility of surgery, where high-quality diagnostics and procedures will be performed to stabilize the condition of children with cancer diagnoses. Part of the total amount, namely 220,500 hryvnias, was raised thanks to charitable contributions from partners and participants of the bike ride. Most of the money was added by the Lviv City Council, which annually joins the event and supports the young patients of the ZUSDMCH." - says the head of the Lviv branch of the Zaporuka Charitable Foundation Natalia Bolibrukh.
The event was traditionally joined by the mayor, Andriy Sadovyi.
"We add the city's contribution, and together we reach a million. You always need to set an ambitious goal and achieve it. And when you lack strength, God helps, and you find strength and good people. I thank all the participants!", - added the mayor of Lviv Andriy Sadovyi.
Despite the rain and unfavorable weather conditions, Lviv residents and visitors came out to a big family event to pedal to support children. The event began near the National Opera with a charity fair where people could buy souvenirs from the Zaporuka Foundation, Gorgany, a manufacturer of tourist and sports equipment, and Honey House, a honey delicacies store.
Before the start, professional athlete and trainer Lyudmyla Lenska organized a brisk exercise for the participants of the bike ride. The event was hosted by Lux FM radio host Andriy Fertsak, who kept the cycling activists in a positive mood.
The event was supported by the Lviv City Council and the Lviv Sports Department. Charitable contributions supported the VII cycle ride "I Pedal to Keep Them Alive":
