Foundation "Zaporuka" donated critical equipment to the National Cancer Institute (NCI) - a medical centrifugeused to prepare for bone marrow transplantation. The cost of the centrifuge is UAH 2,300,000and it has already been installed and put into operation.
The centrifuge performs an important function in the process of preparing a patient for transplantation:
The sampled biomaterial is purified from plasma.
Minimizes the need for an additional preservative, which was previously necessary but toxic.
After processing, the material is stored in a low-temperature refrigerator or cryostorage (which is on its way and will be installed later).
The transfer of the equipment to the children's department of the NIHR is a logical step, because:
З 2004 the institution has already conducted 334 transplants.
Medical professionals have high expertise in this area.
The new equipment will significantly improve the quality and safety of procedures.
This project was implemented solely thanks to donations from Ukrainians who support the Zaporuka Foundation. Each donor has become part of a great cause:
The centrifuge is already in operation.
The cryostorage is on its way to the institute.
Changes in the healthcare system are happening right now.
