Partnership with the international humanitarian organization Intersos

The foundation has "Zaporuka" A powerful international partner, a humanitarian organization, has emerged INTERSOSwhich specializes in operational assistance in countries with ongoing armed conflicts.

We are starting to work together in the Lviv and Vinnytsia regions, where there are the most internally displaced people in need of medical, social and psychological support.

The first step is to renovate hospital bomb shelters.

Why is it important?

Many shelters in medical facilities, including children's shelters, are in an unsuitable condition for long-term stay:

• cold,

• raw,

• poorly ventilated,

• dark and depressing.

Children undergoing treatment are forced to go down to these conditions every day as soon as the alarm sounds. They stay in the basement for hours - sometimes several times a day.

Lviv is the first city where we started operating

Our first joint project with INTERSOS is renovation of the shelter in Western Ukrainian Specialized Children's Medical Center in Lviv. Children evacuated from the most dangerous regions of Ukraine are treated here every day.

Due to frequent air raids, major repairs are currently impossible. But we are already working on basic improvements:

• dusting,

• installation of ventilation,

• heating system adjustment,

• comfortable lighting,

• creating a warm, "friendly" interior for children.

We want kids not to feel like "dungeon children", even during the war.

We have a lot of plans. We are currently analyzing requests and inspecting other hospitals in Lviv and Vinnytsia regions. We are working to ensure that children feel safe even underground.

The recent explosions in Lviv have once again reminded us that we cannot ignore the alarm. Among the victims is a child who came from Kharkiv in the hope of finding peace.
