

On the eve of the New Year Bacteriological Laboratory of the National Cancer Institute has received an important update: automatic analyzer VITEK 2 compact. The cost of the equipment amounted to UAH 1,979,999but its benefits for patients and doctors are invaluable.
The analyzer helps:
quickly determine the sensitivity of bacteria to antimicrobials;
adjust the treatment for each patient;
increase the effectiveness of therapy even in the most difficult cases.
VITEK 2 compact is able to recognize:
bacterial infections;
fungal pathogens;
More than 300 types of pathogens with high accuracy.
This reduces the need for additional tests, speeds up diagnosis, and shortens the length of patients' hospital stays.
Having an extended antibiotic regimen, doctors can individually select therapyConsidering:
concomitant diseases;
immune status;
allergic reactions;
age and general condition of the patient.
The equipment was transferred as part of the project RELIEF charitable foundation "Zaporuka" and Soleterre Onlus. Funding provides Italian Agency for the Development of Cooperation AICS.
support for IDPs;
improving conditions in shelters;
providing hospitals in Kyiv, Poltava and Cherkasy regions with modern medical equipment.
