Training for physical therapists of the National Cancer Institute: dealing with back pain in patients with cancer

August 9-10 Zaporuka Charitable Foundation with the support of Academy of Education of the National Cancer Institute conducted a two-day training for physical therapists on the following topics "Physical therapy of back and lumbar pain in oncology patients".

Participants received up-to-date knowledge and practical skills for working with patients, as well as the opportunity to share experiences and practice techniques under the guidance of Artem ZgurskyHead of Physical Therapy at the Institute of Vertebrology and Rehabilitation.

The program included:

• Recognizing patient alarms and finding the causes of pain;
• techniques of manual therapy, joint and soft tissue mobilization;
• exercises to restore strength, mobility, and body confidence;
• adaptation of approaches to the special needs of cancer patients.

Each participant received practical tools that they can use in their daily work to help patients more effectively and safely. We continue to support medical professionals to ensure that every patient has access to quality rehabilitation care that makes life easier.
