Kherson is alive, and we continue to be there!

Kherson lives on, and we continue to be there for it.

The Zaporuka Foundation, as part of its Support for Frontline and Host Communities program, helps the Sofia Family Rehabilitation Center for Children with Disabilities, a place that brings together families raising children with disabilities and staying in the city despite daily challenges.

Stories of the families we support

Lina and Sasha
Lina had long dreamed of having a child. At the age of 35, the couple gave birth to their son Sasha prematurely. Due to a lesion of the central nervous system, the boy has a complex form of cerebral palsy and is in palliative care. After the divorce, Lina stayed with her son and elderly parents, and her day is scheduled to the minute: medications, feeding, controlling epileptic seizures.
During the occupation of Kherson, the family found themselves without the necessary medicines. Thanks to the cooperation of Zaporuka and the Sofia Center, the necessary medicines were found so that Sashko could continue his treatment and Lina could get at least a little peace in her daily struggle.

Svitlana, Veronika and Denys
Svitlana is raising two children. Her son Denis has neurological disorders and needs constant treatment. The Foundation supports the family with food and hygiene products to make their life easier and give them the most important thing - the feeling that they are not alone.

Yevhen and Kateryna with their children
Yevhen and Kateryna are teachers whose lives changed dramatically after the family lost their home in the shelling. Three children, two of whom have disabilities, were left homeless, but not without support. "Zaporuka is helping the family with everything they need to stay in Kherson, close to hospitals and elderly parents. This gives them the opportunity to recover and move on.

Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Zaporuka Foundation has provided over UAH 1.7 million. And we continue to do it every day!
