Domestic violence often remains invisible - hidden behind closed doors. To draw attention to this topic and give a voice to survivors, the Zaporuka Foundation, together with the Lesya Theater, organized a performance reading, The Voice of a Woman in Silence.
The event featured two plays:
- The War of Frau Kozak by Lyudmyla Tymoshenko
- "Stickers" by Igor Nosovsky
These texts allowed the audience to feel the inner state of women who had experienced violence within their own homes through words, silence, pain, and hope.
Each reading was followed by panel discussions, a space for sharing thoughts, emotions, and professional conversation. The audience was not left alone with what they had seen: experts helped them to comprehend the topic more deeply and discuss the important things.
Among the speakers: Natalia Onipko, Olga Lehotska, Khrystyna Zamula, Svitlana Fedeshova, Yulia Rudyuk, Maryna Poturai, Andriy Lukachyk, Vasyl Kolisnyk, and Yaroslav Bordiyan.
Moderated by Yana Pekun, an expert on gender equality, social inclusion, and educational psychologist.
