The Zaporuka Charitable Foundation together with its partners presented the young patients of the National Cancer Institute with a renovated inclusive space. Modern design, light colors, bright walls, comfortable furniture - this is how the renovated pediatric oncology department has become. The total amount that Zaporuka Foundation has already allocated for the reconstruction is over UAH 7.5 million.
In December, thanks to the support of the international organization GlobalGiving, the foundation completed the first stage of reconstruction. And today, on April 23, it presented the results of the second stage, which included:
- three new wards for children and their families with inclusive bathrooms were equipped;
- A cozy room for meetings with psychologists was created;
- a spacious hall with a library and a play area was renovated;
- the medical staff post and the manipulation room were renovated.
In total, the project has already updated 9 chamberswhere the children and their families are currently staying. The new space is designed to make the children feel cared for, comfortable and able to continue dreaming, playing and expressing themselves through creativity. The bright yellow color of the walls fills the ward with light and warmth.
In addition, the department has more opportunities for physical therapists and restoration of motor functions. The inclusive rehabilitation space was created with the support of the Ministry of the Interior of the Czech Republic. International and Ukrainian partners joined the renovation: Soleterre, Raiffeisen Bank, AGROMAT, hansgrohe Ukraine.
