The Zaporuka Charitable Foundation has opened a children's space at a school in the village of Neslukhiv, Novoyarichivska community in Lviv Oblast. From now on, children will have a cozy, safe space for leisure and development.
New comfortable furniture, a library and play areas, materials for creativity - all this is provided for extracurricular activities for all students from grades 1 to 9. Currently, the school is attended by 105 studentsAmong them are children who moved to Novoyarichivska community with their families after the outbreak of the full-scale war.
“The creation of a children's space is an important contribution to the development of children, as they can relax, play board games, and be filled with good mood, strength, and desire to go to school.
I am confident that such rooms for students will become a popular place at school, so now we aim to open such spaces in every educational institution of the Novoyarichivska community to provide the best conditions for the education and development of our children", - comments the head of the territorial Novoyarichivska community Petro Sokolovsky.
One of the key features of the space is a mini-library where students can read books for every taste and level of difficulty. The reading area is equipped with bright, comfortable poufs where you can relax and plunge into the world of fairy tales and adventures. For those who are interested in creativity, we created a crafting corner where you can reveal your talent and create something special with your own hands. The space provides many options for leisure - from a play area with foosball tables to a TV set around which you can gather with friends to watch your favorite movies and TV shows.
"In addition to repairing and arranging the space, the Zaporuka Foundation also took care of the children's psycho-emotional state, so it provided a psychologist and a social worker. The program of regular classes aims to improve the children's socialization and integration in the new environment, introduce them to their peers, and improve interaction between children with different war experiences. The psychologist will provide individual counseling to both children and adults, as well as organize group sessions", - adds the head of the Lviv branch of the Zaporuka Charitable Foundation. Natalia Bolibrukh.
The opening of a children's space in Neslukhiv is one of the initiatives of the We Can Do It project of the Zaporuka Charitable Foundation, which is being implemented with the technical support of UN Women in Ukraine and with funding from the United Nations Women's Peace and Humanitarian Fund (WPHF).
This is not a new initiative for the Zaporuka Foundation, which is being implemented in the Novoyarichivska community. Earlier, in the fall of 2022, the foundation rebuilt an old dormitory in Neslukhiv and transformed it into a cozy home for families who lost their homes due to the war. Today, about 100 people live in the House, and each family has a separate apartment equipped for comfortable living. But despite this, the old dormitory lacked a place for children's leisure. Therefore, creating a children's space on the basis of the school, where the children of the families who have settled in the House now study, was a logical and consistent step for the foundation's team.
